2021-2022 Scholarship

Jasmine Bailes grew up in the Sahtú region, living in Norman Wells. She spent time on the land and learning the traditional knowledge of the Sahtú Dene people, which influenced her life and is the foundation for who she is. Jasmine has always been interested in the environment and wants to take that interest further into her post-secondary career.  She is majoring in Environmental Studies at the University of Alberta, she will be able to learn more about the environment and its issues. Furthermore, she hopes to have a future career path within the Sahtú region, learning more about the land and protecting it for future generations.
